Own the Upstream Technical Foundation

We are seeking an experienced SAP Ariba Technical Lead to own how upstream Strategic Sourcing solutions are built, integrated, secured, and operated. This role owns configuration mechanics, data flows, integration architecture, extensibility, and environment and release management.

The Technical Lead makes the functional design run. You will partner directly with a Functional Lead on each engagement and are accountable for integration quality, data integrity, and technical stability through hypercare.

Sourcing (RFx and Auctions) Build and Mechanics

Technically configure event and project templates, phases, conditions, and the rules and weighting engine.
Configure custom offerings, terms, and formula-based scoring.
Implement bulk participant and line item data loads.
Troubleshoot event publishing, award scenario, and optimization failures.

Contract Management (CLM) Build and Mechanics

Configure contract workspace templates, clause and assembly logic, and the Microsoft Word authoring add-in.
Integrate Docusign or Adobe Sign.
Map contract attributes and hierarchies.
Build publish-to-ERP outbound contract flows.
Automate amendment and renewal processes.

Supplier Lifecycle and Performance (SLP) Build and Mechanics

Implement supplier data models.
Configure registration, qualification, modular questionnaires, and process flows.
Develop Supplier Management SOAP and REST API integrations.
Configure supplier hierarchy and duplicate prevention.
Integrate third-party risk and data providers such as Dun and Bradstreet, EcoVadis, and RiskMethods.

Spend Analysis and Data Pipeline

Build spend data load files and ETL processes.
Load taxonomy and commodity enrichment data.
Configure scheduled import and export tasks.
Implement analytical reporting using Ariba Analysis, Prism, and SAP Analytics Cloud.

Configuration and Environment Management

Own site parameters and configuration governance.
Manage CSV data import and export tasks.
Configure custom and flex fields and master data.
Implement and maintain configuration workbooks.
Migrate templates and workspaces across Development, Test, and Production realms.

Integration and Master Data

Design and build supplier, commodity, and organizational master data integrations with SAP ERP and S/4HANA using SAP CIG.
Configure cXML and XML mappings, IDoc and BAPI integrations, SOAP and REST services, and SAP Integration Suite (CPI) or PI and PO middleware.
Implement single sign-on using SAML.
Synchronize approval hierarchies.
Monitor and reprocess integration errors.

Testing, Deployment, and Operations

Own integration and regression testing.
Perform technical root cause analysis and defect resolution.
Manage realm migrations and transports.
Develop technical cutover runbooks and manage environments.
Lead technical hypercare, including monitoring, performance tuning, and error reprocessing.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Five or more years of SAP Ariba technical configuration and integration experience, with at least two full lifecycle upstream implementations.

Hands-on experience with SAP CIG and SAP Integration Suite (CPI) or PI and PO middleware.

Working command of cXML and XML, IDoc and BAPI, SOAP and REST services, message mapping, routing, and end-to-end error reprocessing.

Experience with load file design, data migration, data reconciliation, and realm-to-realm configuration promotion.

Experience implementing single sign-on using SAML, plus user and role management, data access controls, and audit configuration.

Working knowledge of Ariba APIs, Supplier Management APIs, Operational and Analytical Reporting APIs, OAuth, and SAP Developer Portal extensions.

Experience owning realms, transports, quarterly SAP Ariba release regression testing, and release impact assessment.

Experience with logging, integration monitoring, performance tuning, and hypercare reprocessing.

Strong problem-solving skills, disciplined documentation habits, and the ability to explain technical constraints to non-technical stakeholders.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
